Eco Septic Tanks specialises in the installation of environmentally friendly CE marked certified Eco-Biological Septic Tanks in and around the Valencian or Murcia Regions, the areas where Townhalls are demanding Eco Tank upgrades most of all are Monovar, Benissa, Orba valley, Tibi, and the Jalon Valley that includes Parcent, Lliber, Alcalali and Murla.

If you have an old septic tank in Costa Blanca North or South it will most likely not meet current regulations and needs to be upgraded by law. Common reasons for upgrading your old septic tank would be to obtain a Habitation Certificate or cédula de habitabilidad. This certificate means that the Spanish property complies with the town hall's habitation requirements and old septic tanks do not.

Our eco friendly bio septic tanks have six filtration chambers to make sure the water disposed of is totally safe for the environment whilst being fully accredited by the water board and town hall.

Unlike other Treatment Plants, our sustainable Septic Tanks have got the CE Certificate, Environmental Certificate, TÜV Certificate and the approval of the Hydrographic Confederation of the Segura, all needed for your local Town hall and administrations.

As you may be aware the EU nation laws states that all properties, that are NOT connected too mains sewerage, need to have an eco certified Septic Tank installed, replacing the old /existing non conformed Septic Tank Pit or Soak Away, otherwise known as a “posa negra” or black hole.

The waste from these old types of installations is allowed to soak away into the surrounding soil causing a negative reaction to the land and creatures habitats. Of course this is against current European regulations in the Valencian region and an approved eco septic tank needs to be installed.

We are not only talking about rural countryside properties, but also urban properties not connected to the main sewage system in areas such as Benissa.

Our Eco Septic Tanks, also called Oxidation Tanks, are also required by the administrations (Town halls) to obtain any legal required documents, such as a Responsible Declaration of Habitation Certificate (The Old Occupation License), this is very common when purchasing a villa or finca in rural locations.

The eco-friendly waste water process needs micro-organisms to brake down and use organic pollutants from wastewater for their nutrition, thus cleaning the wastewater before it’s extracted to the land. This biological cleaning method is based on bacterias ability to feed by various organic and mineral substances from wastewater. Oxygen is also essential for vital activity of bacteria, therefore the air blower is installed near the wastewater treatment plant.

2022 EU REGS

No matter if you are buying or selling a property on the campo the valenciana government say you must now meet the new 2022 regulations for septic tanks before any sale can be agreed. Even if your property has a Habitation Certificate it will not change the situation.

You will not be able to market or buy a property with an estate agent unless you have a certificate showing that you have had the new approved septic tank installed.

You need a certificate from the Hydrographical Confederation of the area to use it as irrigation, or to spread it under the soil. If you have not got this permit, legally, you cannot spread the water in your land.

Tip: If you’re wanting to purchase a property it is likely the seller will pay half the cost with you or offer you a discount, ask your estate agent to negotiate this on your behalf.

NEW BOTTLE TANK

Our latest 2023 eco septic tank and 3rd model is more rigid, robust and works more efficiently, The septic tank now weighs 180Kg (The previous versions weighed 60Kg) and is fully certified and CE marked.

The inside is the same as the 2nd series with the triangular chamber, however all slots and the wall thickness has been doubled to create an indestructible highly functional design.

As with all modern technology, upgrades are a welcome addition and for a small increase in price to cover the extra materials you are getting so much more from your return on investment.

All our ESTs are CE marked and fully Certified as being eco friendly and we provide the approval certificate from the Hydrographic Water Department, in Spain this is called "Confederación Hidrográfica" this can take from 10 - 24 months for this to be issued by the water board depending on your location and their work load.

After installation it will take a maximum of one week to be issued the 1st installation certificate by us.

The final certificate is issued by the waterboard, and your new septic tank is perfectly fine to use during this period as the administrations (town hall) submit our first certified application to the waterboard as official.

WARRANTY

Air blower is covered by 24 months warranty. The capacity of biological wastewater treatment plants (eco septic tanks) are covered by a 10 year warranty from the installation date.

Warranty is valid in the cases when wastewater treatment plant is installed, maintained and used in accordance with the instructions set out in this Technical Data Sheet.

The warranty does not cover the misuse of the equipment or over exceeding the tanks capacity, you need to follow the general operating instructions demonstrated and supplied to you in writing on completion of the installation.
